Luna gazed up at the night sky from the roof of lodge. She lit up a cigarette and took a long drag before blowing out the smoke, watching it drift. She was not finished with the lodge work since she start too late in the day, unfortunately. The hangover was gone thank goodness. However, Mildred and Tammy were at it and fighting again in the bunkroom. She needed to take a break before her headache came back and before she would have to use her trusty broom on the girls tonight.

Kate had taken up walking when she had gotten to New York. She wasn’t quite sure WHERE to start and she still needed a real job somewhere. So for now she was wandering about and trying to settle down. Kate had been wandering when she saw someone up above. On a roof? That was odd. But then again there were stranger things in Texas. She looked up, her head tilting back as she did. “Hey! Who’s up there?”

“Hey yourself!” Luna called out and looked down at who could be yelling up at her. “You tell me! Can I help ya?”

She waved, curious about who would be on top of a roof in this weather. but it could be someone who knew what they were doing. Someone brave. and she liked brave. “Not really. I was just curious is all. You see I’m new here in town-“

“Well welcome to Brooklyn!” Luna replied and took another drag. “You got a place to stay?” 

“Not yet. I’m looking for a lodge or something. Some place to work. Just came here from Texas yesterday. But ya can probably tell from my accent. I stick out like a sore thumb.” She shrugged, feeling odd yelling up at someone on a roof. But she had done stranger things.
